Certificate Terms and Conditions

Declaration and Terms & Conditions
By submitting this application, I verify that the information provided is complete, factual, and true to the best of my knowledge. I understand that failure to provide the required documentation may delay processing of this application.
I further understand that any false, misleading, or incomplete information, including misrepresentation of my programme, may result in denial of certification. If certification has already been granted, such misrepresentation may lead to suspension, withdrawal, or cancellation of the programme’s certification.
While holding IAC certification, I agree to notify IAC in writing within 30 days of any material changes to the programme content or status. I acknowledge that such changes may affect certification status and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions outlined below.

Terms & Conditions
IAC accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from use or reliance on this information in relation to programme selection. All complaints regarding programme content or dealings with Education Institute staff are strictly a contractual matter between the student and the institution.
Key Points:

  1. Nature of Certification

    • IAC Certification is not an accreditation, credentialing, or verification of academic or practice standards.

    • Certification is awarded for the specific scope of activity listed on the certificate. Misrepresentation of the scope is grounds for withdrawal or removal of certification.

  2. Promotion and Use

    • If certification is suspended, withdrawn, or cancelled, the Education Institute must discontinue all promotion or advertising referencing IAC certification.

    • Certification will be cancelled if the Institute chooses not to renew, ceases operations, or ceases trading.

    • IAC Certification indicates that the institution supports the international development of counselling; it does not verify academic or practice standards.

  3. Use of the IAC Certificate

    • Certification may only be used by institutions with current, paid-up membership and certification.

    • References to the IAC Certificate, name, or logo must be removed from all materials (e.g., websites, brochures) upon expiry of certification.

    • Continued use after expiration is strictly prohibited.

  4. Appropriate Communication

    • When communicating IAC certification, care must be taken to avoid misrepresentation. Suggested phrases include:

      • “IAC Certification is awarded in recognition of a validated commitment to raising counselling standards through international learning and exchange, respect for diversity, and promotion of cross-cultural awareness.”

      • “IAC Certification demonstrates our commitment to the profession.”

      • “IAC Certification supports the development of counselling internationally.”

    • Certification does not reflect academic standards, which must be stated separately.

  5. Multiple Programmes

    • If an institution operates in multiple locations or programmes, communication of certification must specify the exact programme and location. Misrepresentation of coverage is prohibited.

  6. Extent and Scope

    • Certification benefits the programme and institution, not individual staff, members, or associates unless separately agreed.

  7. Sanctions for Misuse

    • Misrepresentation of IAC Certification is grounds for withdrawal or removal of certification and membership.

  8. Reporting Misuse

    • Suspected misuse or false claims regarding IAC Certification should be reported to: ceo@iac-irtac.org, with full details.

Certification Disclaimer:
IAC Certification recognizes that the programme demonstrates a commitment to international counselling standards and best practices. Certification is awarded based on the information provided and the review process conducted by IAC.
IAC does not assume responsibility for the content, delivery, or outcomes of the programme, nor does certification constitute an endorsement of the institution, its staff, or its graduates. Certification should be understood as recognition of alignment with IAC standards, not a guarantee of programme quality or effectiveness.
