IAC World Conference 2026 — Uruguay

Conference Theme: “Counselling in a Transforming World: Ethics, Innovation, and Human Connection”

We are delighted to announce that the next IAC Global Conference will take place in Punta del Este, Uruguay, from November 20–22, 2026, at the stunning Solanas Vacation Club.

This landmark gathering will bring together the global community of counsellors — practitioners, educators, researchers, and leaders — from across the world. Together, we will explore how counselling continues to evolve in a rapidly changing world, with a focus on ethics, innovation, and the essential power of human connection.

IAC is honoured to be collaborating with Edhuca, Uruguay’s leading counsellor education body, to create a world-class event that reflects both the serious professional mission of the counselling field and the warmth and humanity that define it.

Climate and Season: November is springtime in Uruguay, offering pleasant, mild-to-warm weather — typically between 18°C and 26°C (64–79°F). It’s an ideal time to enjoy Punta del Este’s beaches, green landscapes, and outdoor cafés. For those travelling from the Northern Hemisphere, it’s the perfect opportunity to trade autumn or early winter for sunshine and sea breezes.

A Truly Global Meeting

The conference will feature:

• Keynote presentations from leading voices in counselling, psychotherapy, mental helth and well being (to be announced soon).

• Global participation from every region — including strong representation from Latin America, Central and South America, Spain and the Spanish-speaking regions of the USA, as well as participants from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East.

• A special gathering of association leaders from around the world, where key discussions and decisions about the future of the counselling profession will take place.

• Presentations from counsellors worldwide, sharing innovative practices, research, and insights.

• Networking and Social Events: Enjoy warm, welcoming gatherings that foster genuine professional and personal connections — from relaxed evening receptions to cultural celebrations and shared meals with colleagues from every corner of the globe.

A Conference with Heart

The Uruguayan hosts are committed to ensuring that this conference embodies a strong human connection. Alongside the main programme, participants will have the option to join a retreat-style “whole-in” package — an immersive experience designed to enhance connection, reflection, and wellbeing among attendees.

For those preferring a traditional format, conference-only tickets will also be available, offering full access to the academic and social programme.

Accommodation and Ticket Options

There will be two types of tickets available:

• Retreat Package: Includes accommodation and all meals.

• Conference-Only Ticket: Includes conference entry, lunches, coffee breaks, and social events (accommodation not included).

Online Participation

Join virtually and experience all keynotes, plenary sessions, presentations, official ceremonies, and main-stage announcements (20–22 November 2026).

• All presentations in Spanish will be simultaneously interpreted into English.

Languages

The conference will be conducted in English and Spanish, with simultaneous interpretation (English ↔ Spanish) available both in-person and online during all plenary sessions.
